This was taken in Windsor at the Detroit River this weekend. The ducks and mergansers were flying by non stop.
All C&Cs are welcome and appreciated. Hope you enjoy the image.

    Love this one Jim.
Looks nice and sharp and who doesn't love a redhead!! perfect wing position with the incoming angle making for a topnotch image.
    Whites beautifully controlled.
Not sure why you do not post at 1800 pixels wide- it really helps my old eyes to see the image better!

You have a really nice POV, eye level it appears.. Sharp and excellent BG.
I also wish you posted larger, not hard to do.

Thanks Gail and Dan. Here is a larger version of the image. I have been posting them at a size similar to my Zenfolio site to save myself some work.

Larger is way better and I would apply a bit more sharpening to the head.

Better large Jim and yes to the sharpening of the head. Really pretty!

Very nice flight shot Jim. Good head angle, good eye contact, good wing position and good background. You have a bit of a blue cast on the flight feathers of the rear wing and the dark feathers of the breast. Just select those areas and lower the saturation of the blue channel and you will see the cast vanish. I would warm the image up a bit and agree with Gail that it could use a touch more sharpening to the head. Maybe smart sharpen just the head at 50 and .3. Easy fixes for a very nice image. We get very few of these in my area and I have some photos from years back but none that I consider top notch now. It is high on my list of wanted waterfowl species and I would be thrilled to have a shot like this.

Very nice. Like the pose and the blue water background. There are large rafts of red heads on the lake where i live.

Looking good Jim...Lovely flight pose and nice detail throughout. I also see a slight blueish cast.
