    I spent 6 hours yesterday with the Eiders in my hometown, on a rather windy day. Glad I did though, as they performed well. This one I captured with my tripod in the water. I saw the bird dive under, waited for it emerging again, seconds later it surfaced with this crab. After a few seconds the crab was swallowed.. I managed a few decent shots, probably have gotten more with the 1DX, but, its a chance you take I suppose.

    Like this one, William. Great patients and timing. Not so lucky for the crab. Nice positioning so we see his partial body and the head with full crab and splash. Well done.

    I like the action you captured here Will. Great view of the crab and splash. Only wish we could see more of the Eider but I would still be happy to have this in my files.

    I love the crab but feel the wave overwhelms the eider.

    prey is awesome too bad about the wave, the image is a bit dark and soft overall

    I can see why you like this one. Too bad the bird wasn't in front of that wave. Not much you could do about that though.
