Default Loch Ness Monster or Pied-billed Grebe?

Here's another one from earlier in the week. We usually see these guys hunkered down, so we forget how long their neck is when it's extended!

I dread the day when I'm too old to get super low for shots like this.

Wow, check out that psychedelic eye! My type of low angle, and I too dread the day I cannot do it anymore - perhaps that will be when I buy a right-angle viewer. Sharp, well exposed, good comp. Great texture on the bill. Lots to like here!

Neat-oh! I fondly remember the days when I was able to get flat down on the ground easily :)

Great Portrait here. love that view of the eye. I have never seen one with their neck stretched out like that. Pretty neat. Love the green background.

Nice eye and they really do look like this... Nice angle also.
About my favorite duck to photo and just watch.
    They are fascinating.

    Grebes are not ducks :)

If these are anything like 'our' grebes then full marks for fieldcraft. Either way its a beautifully timed shot with great details - just wondering if it needs a slight CCW rotation based on the water at the base of the neck

Definitely the Loch Ness Monster, I seen him last week on Loch Ness and it looked just like this ...Very nice....I like the crop and the good details. BG blends well. The eye is the perfect 'centre piece'

Excellent Capture. Point of view make this image.

The details on the bird and the water colors really elevate the image. I like the eye as well.
