This beautiful drake in breeding plumage was attracted to the seeds I was handing out to the many Mallards around. One of the rare times it was fully isolated from those, and even then I had to remove part of a Mallard along the right edge of the frame.

Canon 7DII + 500mm f/4 II, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/2000s., f/5, ISO 800, natural light,m handheld, eye work to both eyes. I was tempted to remove the bit of tail poking out - I may still do.

I like the comp with room on both sides, makes it seem bleaker in the snow.
I would get rid of the tail feather, despite it being natural, it looks unnatural.

I like head-on shots, this is really nice. Framing is great.

Beautiful Dan, I like the composition and the processing. I would leave the tail as is...but that's me. The vague layers in the background really show to good effect.

Very nice. Really like the head on view. I would leave the tail.

Nice low angle winter frame, Daniel. Good use of negative space with the wider crop. Head on pose is nice with the dual green flashes. Tail feather could stay or go.

A lovely shot with your signature POV. I'd evict the tail, but it doesn't really matter.
