A wet Royal Penguin strides up the beach, leading his buddies. Very inquisitive birds, this is at Sandy Beach on Macquarie Island a couple of years ago.

Good control of whites and detail, love the pose. I know it's context but the oof birds are a bit distracting for me. Would make a good head portrait.

Kill me, kill me, kill me. Great light and a pretty decent image design -- I could do without the the third bird. The look on the face of the subject is priceless. Do post a head shot if you got one.

There is pretty much no bad penguin image for me...
I like it a lot. The oof birds don't bother me at all.

Thanks for the comments guys. Leading up to this the 3rd bird had its head up, it would have been better if it cooperated a bit more when the subject flicked his crown... It kept coming closer, I'll take a look to see if I have a head shot after this, probably do.

very cute, I like those colors. in a perfect world the OOF penguin would not have intersected with the subject. BG can use some NR
