I really don't want to say it, but the faces are not in sharp focus, very close but not bang on, an alternative consideration could be subject movement but given the shutter speed i would have thought the faces would have been pin sharp. I think you could afford to raise the exposure a little more on the coyotes. Sorry to sound negative but despite the reservations I still like the image and it would certainly be a keeper for me.
Fantastic opportunity you had here! But I have to agree with Jon, the subjects' faces are not sharp and I am afraid no amount of PP work and no software can fix it. There could be a number of reasons for this. You could have missed the "target" with all the excitement and commotion, lack of support for your gear, F5.6 not enough when you have two subjects that are not in the same plane of focus. Maybe your gear needs calibration.
Is this a very big crop? Seems to me the action took you by surprise and you had not time to recompose?
I am sure this is very special to you, so maybe worth doing a couple of things like reducing contrast and raising exposure selectively on the coyotes. Lifting the blacks and shadows might also help.
Sorry Gio, I sincerely hope you have more images from this sighting, maybe they are not as exciting as this one but as long at the subjects are sharp...I tried an RP , here it is but I am not happy with it, best if you start from the beginning.
Thank you so much for sharing, appreciated. Have a nice evening Gio,
Kind regards,
