    Default Chilling Cheetah's

Taken late afternoon, these two Cheetahs took time out to chill. Mum is the in the FG, the young male cub was the 'alert' one. Some Impala had caught his attention, but Mum was quite happy just to take time out. These two had previously walked pasted our room at lunchtime, so having headed out, we were fairly confident they were still close by.

Thanks to those who posted or viewed on the last posting.

I quite like the light and shadow and the juxtaposition of the two cheetahs. I am sure we will disagree but I would most definitely lower the brightest highlights on the juvenile's face - I have no doubts whatsoever, bright ray of light or not.
Other than that reservation I think it is a very good image. Love those amber eyes.

    Hello Steve,

This just works! POV is great and my eyes settle with ease on the young cheetah behind mommy, whose presence in the FG does not distract. The light is beautiful and gentle and adds to the mood of the image.

Composition is spot on, lovely colours. Environment reminds me of the Kalahari ( I'll be there soon, yay)

Sweet capture, I like your thinking in the field and thoughtful processing.

And I enjoyed viewing, very much

    Warmest regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Kind of looks like a two headed cheetah. The light was nice and the angle is pretty good.

Hi Steve -- One of those images where framing with an OOF subject in the FG makes you think what if ....

I am 50-50 on this as the mum in the FG is not ideal IMO, rather a tight vertical frame with only Cheetah's in it or a more pano crop, but that wont be ideal i guess.

Details and colours are very nice. Liked the light hitting the Cheetah as well.

    TFS !

Thanks Haseeb, I'm trying to move the image on from just a 'portrait'. I wanted 'Mum' to lead the viewer to the cub and so both have a part to play, with just enough DoF for Mum rather than a blur OOF object. Portrait is a not starter as here I wanted more 'content' within the frame.
