Very nice. Really like everything about this one. Night light, nice low angle. The out of focus foreground and background. Well done.

Hello Basil, and a warm welcome back from meBeautiful Kalahari lioness, was this taken recently?

I do like the OOF surroundings as they help the subject stand out quite nicely. Would have liked a little more DoF though, for the muzzle to be sharp. Or perhaps some grasses got in the way?

Wonderful pose and I love the focused stare, makes one wonder what she had seen. Great POV. Well exposed and composition is great. I know what the Kalahari light is like sometimes but still tempted to reduce the reds a bit

Just begun packing for my upcoming trip to the KTP, very happy to have the pleasure to view this image tonight - thank you for sharing! Let us have some more please

    Kind regards,

I like the composition but I would suggest the yellows and oranges need some taming to revel the detail more clearly in the highlights.

Hi Basil, why shoot f/4, what was your thinking here?

I do like the framing, the head angled away and just the hint of sky creeping in. You had some lovely light, but agree with Jon on the colour. You can also get some more 'tonal contrast' overall back into the image with some simple Curves adjustments just adding back some 'layering' if you wanted. Just wished the OOF vegetation wasn't quite masking the nose.

    TFS, lets see more Basil.

Very nice natural framing by the out of focus foreground and background.

Love the pose and the light does not bother me, its Kgalagadi light as I know it. I assume there might have been a few OOF grasses in front of the muzzle? Not a major crit, works well as it is. Well done, beautiful frame!
