Very nice John! Super sharp. The perch is great (smart to go at f/8) and the curious head tilt is very engaging. I particularly like the detail on the feet. Excellent!

Very nice image. Bird looks great.
Whenever I get images like this, I always find myself wishing that the tail was on the other side of the perch.
I am always happier when the bird poses more parallel to the sensor with the tail clearing the branch. (I am being super picky of course!)
I would increase the exposure by 1/4-1/3.

Lovely shot John I think you have the bird beautifully, you may want to consider burning the lichens - just a little-(soft light).
