Another BHG image from the local loch. This one is in its first winter plumage . The sun was going down behind the trees and the reflections, apart from the Gull, are from the trees which surround the loch.

I continue to love these shots with a very dark BG, really makes the subject pop. Great pose, a shame about the reflections on the breast, but not a deal breaker. I always appreciate interesting shots of everyday subjects, and this fits the bill nicely

Love the white bird on the dark background. The reflection on the bird is pretty neat. Great pose.

Striking image on Black back ground.

I like the pose and wing stretch.

    Thanks

Great control of the exposure and the pose is wonderful. If this is alreay cropped and you have the full reflection, I see a nice vertical.

I really like all of these shots you have posted of Black-headed Gull against the dark background. Bird looks great against the black and you have a nice wing position as well. But to me the whites of the bird are too grayed out.

Yep, I lowered the highlights ever so slightly as the 'bands' across the gull were hot...The sun was low, the loch was dark, so I thought that shade of white fitted the surroundings reflecting from the darkness. Yes, the RAW was whiter, but I can see your point Issac.
