    A lone gemsbok (oryx) seeks shelter against the sweltering sun mid-morning in the shade of a camelthorn tree, taken in the Namib desert near Sossusvlei and Dead Vlei.

    Love the framing here with wonderful contrasting sky and desert colours, with just enough shadow detail, nicely seen mate.

    Lovely image Morkel, nice framing and beautiful colours, stunning scenery.

    Love the colours here, I think you have shown just enough of the tree to show an oasis of shade which looks good against the rest of the image. i like the HA on the Oryx and the hills in the BG. Good DOF.

    Very nice scene. Like the clouds and the sand. The gemsbok is in the perfect spot.

    Morkel it is simply beautiful....but why so small a larger image would have looked outstanding. I did wonder if it would have been better without cropping the tree but I think on reflection this works very well as it is.

    What a lovely scape Morkel , loved the colours and the dunes . The sky adds to the scene . Very nicely framed as well.

    Jonathan - just too lazy at the moment to process at different sizes for different sites. I process at this size for my website and for social media posting.
