    Default Cinnamon Teal Topside View

I'm in Southern California this week, and met up with Dave Salem and Glenn Conlan for some duck photography on Monday. Things were a little slow at the duck pond but I did manage a couple of nice frames. Regardless of the bird activity, it's always fun to hang out with good friends! This Cinnamon Teal drake flashed us some nice color as he rocketed past us. Unfortunately on this frame I clipped a small piece of the bottom wing, so I borrowed one from the preceding frame in the burst.

This would be great if only you had an amazingly colorful and beautiful bird, a perfect wing position, a topside banking pose, smooth blue water, killer details, a great head angle with eye contact and perfect exposure! Awesome shot Doug!

Superb work Doug! Very nice clooning with the bottom wing, I didn't notice anything odd. The pose is perfect, great looking water and nice sharpness. Top noch!

This is really beautiful! You got the colours of the duck, the feather detail in the whole body, and the sharp eye, and had you not mentioned clipping the wing I don't think anyone would have ever known. Nothing wrong with rebuilding from another shot of the exact same bird IMHO, especially when you've got a capture this good. I've got nothing to critique; this is framed-on-the-wall worthy. Great job.

Beautiful pose, details, and BG. Would love a shot like this. Wingtip repair looks great. Nice catchlight. TFS

Everything already said, beautiful pose in great light. I would never have said this had had a wing repair on it - excellent PP skills to add to the list

Excellent in all respects. I too would have taken the time for the wing repair, this frame was well worth it.

Ditto all of the above. A super shot; probably the best I've ever seen of the species. Congratulations.
