This male or female Canada Goose is the proud parent of a brood of 5 goslings currently growing in the Sackville Waterfowl Park. They are prodigious eaters of vegetation and therefore poop accordingly! Some people don't like this but to me it's just plant fertilizer. I think these are great birds, much maligned because populations are doing well and they don't seem to mind living with people.

I removed an errant sprig of grass below the bird and reduced some noise in the backgroud. I used LAB colour to diagnose and correct (Curves) a slight colour cast. This is a full frame image.

I like them too and love to see them in Bosque. Unfortunately we don't get many down this way. Thanks for the read :)

Hi John, I guess this means no more Gannet shots. I have no problem with these pooping machines, as long as they stay away from my camera equipment. The Gannets got my 1D Mark III and my 70-200 lens on more than one occasion. By the way, nice shot of the Canada Goose.

    Hi John,
These guys have become a bit of a nuisance in NJ..........so we tend to overlook them .........very nicely handled.

I love this crop and the exposure and comp are flawless. I really like the grass in the mouth but am not fond of the bit of grass on the gooses neck.
