After losing his bro to a leopard attack some 6 months earlier (when I was last here) and with statistics* showing that remaining single brothers in a 2 bro coalition don't survive past another year, we had high hopes that this big boy would "buck that trend" and go on to many more successful years.

It certainly looked that way during my recent 2 weeks here @ Namiri Plains, Central Serengeti- TZ

    Hello Marc,

To me this is one of your best images ever...I just love it. Great POV and pose is superb. Nice composition. The D5 delivered, IQ looks great at relatively high ISO

Well exposed and the colours are lovely, I like the warm tones and that deep blue sky. You could lift the blacks a tad if you like. Maybe go up on exposure a tad, see what happens? You could also go pano... but then I guess the sky was too lovely to lose

Was this taken late afternoon? Love the mood...

And I really hope this male will enjoy a long life and you get to photograph him again on your next trip.

Very special image, I so enjoyed viewing - thank you for sharing!

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Yes indeed, early evening to be precise, 6.35 pm, it's the first sentence in my description.

Apologies Marc, just came back from a weekend in the bush and still unpacking, I must admit I did not read the intro properly:)

Very nice Marc..What a great looking setting. I really like the colours throughout the image and I like the crop you chose. A very nice POV and a lovely pose on the Cheetah. My only wish would be to have the tail in focus, but that's a minor point on a great looking image. Very well done, love it.

Very nice. Great pose in a very nice setting. The color in the sky is a nice touch to this frame.

Great image with the color in the sky. The flick of the tail really makes it for me.

That's a show stopper for me Marc, very impressive, super quality and colours. A beautiful cat in idyllic position and surroundings.
(When you indicate TK in ACR + PSCC - what are the TK procedures do you do in ACR are you referring to sharpening??????

    Hi Jonathan

    Not just sharpening,

I use the TK Actions panel to individually target the lights. midtones and darks and create layers & masks by those adjustments including colour, sharpening, contrast, HL's/shadow- burn/dodge, etc, whatever is required.......every image is different of course.

Thanks Marc, I am familiar with PSCC actions it was the ACR that had me intrigued.

This is a cracking image, mate.
Clean, great colour and detail, just all round eye-candy.

    Sorry Jon,

apologies for the confusion and can see why you thought I was using TK actions in ACR, I was referring to overall processing, first in ACR then PS for TK, layers/masking, etc.

It is possible of course to use TK actions inside ACR using smart objects and Filter/ACR filter as well, and do use that method at times when tweaking particular images.
