    Interesting and good timing but with the side light and small subject size this one does not work for me.

    Colin, I like this type of action. It looks like your focus may have been just in front of the bird (based on the sharp wavelet). In any case you might be better with a smaller aperture, say f8, to give a bit more DOF and margin for error, particularly if tracking down from the hover. Look like you would have had a good angle if it came up with a fish.

    Thanks for the comments. Greg, it did come up with a fish but the bird is slightly flying away so not up to scratch for posting.
