    Default Sandpiper..re-edited (David Salem's suggestions)

    Hi all...(and David Salem).
Following on from David's critique/suggestions, I decided to re-edit my sandpiper image by rotating ccw, cloning the specular highlights and adding more sharpening to the bird only...before heading off later today for another shoot. I do think it looks better. Agree?
    Cheers.

Improved Paul but it is now a bit over rotated. The simplest way is in PS with the ruler tool, just draw a line along a part of the image that should be horizontal. Then go to Rotation, Arbitrary, select OK and the image will be rotated to set that drawn line level.

Hi Colin. Yes, that's what I did in Photoshop. I was aiming to get the back leg vertical. If I get the ripples horizontal, then the bird leans to the right, I'm happy with the current position.

This is a tough one to level :) Is this and adult Sharp-tailed Sandpiper in winter (basic) plumage? The Boken in the mud looks quite strange. Did you do anything to that?

Hi Artie...good to hear from you again. I believe that it is in non breeding plumage. If you mean the background area...then yes, I cloned (maybe not so well) the specular highlights that were in my original post (as per David Salem's suggestion). Cheers.

Thanks Paul, Best if you post reposts to the original thread :) That way we can see the before and after. The URC is definitely funky. You might try Gausian blurring it about 60 pixels ...
