    There were 3 pelicans at the Willcox birding pond today. This one cooperated for a few images.
    Canon 40D 300 f2.8 with 2XTC, 1/250 at f9 ISO 400

    Excellent sharpness JP, and I like the pose too! I think the bird needs to be placed in the left part of the frame rather than the right. The eye looks a little dark on my monitor. And I think the rest of the bird could stand a brightness boost. Here's a repost that tries to address these issues. What do you think?

    Boy, those pelicans are lost! I've been to that pond and its amazing how many really lost water birds show up there! I like the repost, nice PS work Doug!

    Hi JP,
    ! vote for the original......even if it is on my laptop. You had very nice detail in the whites in the original and some of them were lost in the re-post. As for the crop.........even though the re-post adds to where the bird is looking.........the original gives room to fly.............both seem to work for me.
    Very nicely done!

    I have to say I prefer the original. I like the richer colors and it feels well balanced to me.
