    Here is another of our now resident, at least for the past month, Northern Harrier "Grey Ghost". Captured this image in late afternoon. C&C welcome.

    D500, Nikon 500mm f 4/G + 1.4 TC, 1/1600s, f6.3, ISO 640, Gitzo, Wimberley Gimbal head.

    Very nice topside view Geoffrey, I think you can get more detail. Also, could you get the eye any clearer or is that the nicitating membrane?

    Thanks Ann. I was wondering if it was the nictitating membrane also. I looked closely and it's tough to tell. I did run NIK detail extracter, plus a tad of sharpening, but maybe could use more.

    This is an adult male, the nictitating membrane has made the eye partially closed.
