    Dear John,

Indeed a very sweet scene... and I love the pose/hesitation from the subject

Composition works well, just thinking perhaps a small curve adjustment ( maybe a linear curve in PSCC?) would help bring out the subject a little more?
Lighting conditions - as well as temperatures - surely must make it quite difficult for you to photograph your subjects this time of the year, so well done in capturing this scene

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

John, I like the framing and snow falling always adds to atmosphere.

However John, for me you are just not getting the most from your captures and time spent in 'the field' which is so frustrating I feel and is a crying shame, there is truckloads there irrespective of the 5D3 or 5D4 bodies. Some of your Avian images are almost there, but are far stronger in the overall look & feel and so you should be able to transfer what you do with those to Wildlife as it would really elevate things.

Nothing complicated, just some simple adjustments in LR & PS to bring out the tome and texture with a hint more sharpening, colour is academic as I'm just trying to illustrate what you have in the OP. Not ideal as it's on the laptop and from an sRGB 256 colour image, but think about the possibilities with the Raw....

    TFS
    Steve

I like this a lot. Nice clean BG. OOF snow falling. I think somewhere between your OP and Steves RP would be perfect. Nice John!
