The elusive male Northern Harrier has been somewhat less elusive this past week or so. Here's another look at him as he courses into the wind.

    Hi Bill,
I really like the grey BG here that compliments the bird very well.
You are getting better and better images of this guy.
I find the head a bit crunchy. Is this a big crop?
Also, what is the white line above the first primary of top wing?

Thanks Arash and Gail. I may have sharpened the head just a tad too aggressively. As presented this is about 60% of full width. I don't know about that white line but it may have resulted from my trying to crisp up the wing edges. Whatever it was, I've taken it out in the repost. Does the head look better to you here?

Looks better now! Still a bit crunchy but better.
Keep going there! You will soon get a full frame one- I can feel it!

Nice view of this harrier. Like the two toned background and the composition.

Your best Grey Ghost image so far....Agree with Gail about the head, but very nice and well captured. Love the BG colours which show the bird well. Looking forward to the next one.

Nice one Bill. I like the two toned BG, the pose, and the bit of grasses at the bottom. Looks like you've been getting some great shots as you get back into the field. TFS

Great capture, Bill. I agree, the grey BG beautifully compliments the Grey Ghost. Very nice eye concentration. Well done.
