    Caught this black headed gull in winter plumage as it was preening. Overcast day with the light coming from behind the bird which was under the shade of trees.

    Canon 5D Mk4. Canon 100-400 L Mk2 Processed in Lightroom and PS6

    I think the subject is a it too large in the frame for me. I wish to see more in the bottom of the frame.

    Background needs Noise Reduction. I wish the eye was sharper.

    Hi David...You captured a pretty nice preening pose here. Nice details on the bird. A little more on the bottom would help. The whites look a little on the grey side, I would also add some saturation to the bill.

    Sweet looking gull and i like the preening pose. Little tight at the foot.

    Great detail on this preening bird, particularly on the face. However, he's really tight in the frame. A bit of NR would help the darks as well.
