I captured this frame a few weeks ago. I did not have much time for photography in 2018 as I was busy with our newborn but I tried to make the best out of the few opportunities I had. The juvenile Cooper's hawk in flight was a first for me. This was a lone bird that popped out of nowhere at close range and zipped through the field. It happened only once and I got 4-5 frames of him, all sharp on the head, thanks to the Nikon D850's excellent AF system and this one had a good wing position too! Glad to share it with you and looking forward to more in 2019.

Hi Ari, all the best for 2019, and of course, another high quality capture. Great wing position with a slight head turn, and all tack sharp. Killer smooth BG too.

I figured it was an adult female since there is no fuzz on the head. my bad the female and male adults both have the similar plumage!

Awesome shot of a beautiful bird, love the intensity of the stare and the subject isolation with that clean background. I have a Cooper's that roosts outside my window every night so I've developed a special fondness for these guys, spectacular job capturing one in action like that!

This is what you call a top notch flight photograph. Everything is perfect to my eye. Great work.
