Hi folks another younger Kamtchatka Brown Bear ....with his catch LOL.
This guy found this wing of a gull on the shore of Kuril Lake ...and was playing / feeding with it , no salmon was running at that time so he decided to take this .
I just like the look the bear was giving us ....

The lifted paw, cascading water and glancing your direction are priceless Andreas, very nicely seen here.

Agree the DOF could have been greater, but would be more than happy with this in my files. Really enjoying your latest Kamtchatka collection.

Cool to see the bear with a gull wing. The pose is nice and i like the water coming off of the paw.

Great shot Andreas, I know you are meticulous but is the image just a tad on the cold side??

Hi Andreas, based on the posting I'm assuming it was overcast and so for me, the colours look/appear faithful, but the bear being darker than the BKG I just get the feeling the metering may have been slightly fooled. My thoughts on the previous posting re SS & DoF apply to this one too, but again, it's with hindsight and or making an assumption based on the presentation, would I have done the same, perhaps.

Thanks so much Marc , John , Jon and Steve for your kind comments , much appreciated !!!!

Jon - well matter of taste in terms of color , but the day was overcast so colors should be more on the cool side IMHO . I wanted the reds/yellows more dull in the first place , but decided for more color depth during process . ( soft light 66 % to the red channel ) did the things i wanted.

Marc - Kamtchatka was Bear heaven to me , i enjoyed it very much , will try to revisit in 2020.

Steve - wonder how you think the metering got fooled ? Image was very well exposed ...slightly clipped in the splashing water , so loads of detail in the shadow parts of the bear .

Cheers and thanks again , Andreas

    Hello Andreas,
Priceless moment well captured - super timing Boetie Wonderful pose from the subject!

Framing is great and content is superb. Well processed too. Would have liked to see a warmer version but I understand your intention to stay faithful to conditions at the time.

Real bear heaven, Kamchatka. A bit far for me but I would love to go there one day. Let us see some more, please.

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea
