Hey gang, sneaking in a "winter" theme image before the month closes...and also taking the time to throw in a link to my new blog post listing my personal favorites of 2018 that you can click here:
On that note, I wish you all a very Happy New Year full of blessings plus great photography outings and opportunities!
Canon 7DII + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC III, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/400s., f/5.6, ISO 1600, natural light, handheld, small crop to help the comp, darkened the pupil, toned down some of the snow.
Perfect winter theme shot Daniel. Would you believe that I still do not have a proper Cardinal photo. I literally have 6 of them in my yard all year long. They nest in my yard as well. I see them everywhere but want a shot like this that to date has been elusive. Happy New Year!
Enjoyed your top 10.
I love the bird and the wintery feel. Like Isaac, I have yet to get a really good image of a cardinal in snow.
I love the IQ on the bird and the HA and the BG.
I am not sure about the large mound of snow in front of the bird. It pulls my eye down and away from the bird,
Gail
Spot on Dan, lovely looking setting and the perfectly coloured bird for the scene - thanks for linking your best of the year - always a good read. Thanks for all your work here this year.
