Here's another frame of the male Northern Harrier that has been hanging around a local park recently. He made several passes while I stood there. On this one, his head was turned just a bit away as he approached, but just as he slid by me he turned to look back. I hoped he was about to bank and dive, but no luck. Bit of a large crop, but by far the closest shot I've ever gotten of one of these elusive guys. Last frame of 2018. Happy New Year to one and all!

You are getting closer to the shot you hope for Bill... Especially now that your local park is hosting the grey ghost. I placed an order for a perfect head turn and having him smile and nod your way, delivery 2019! Happy New Year

Nice one, Bill. Like the head angle and that eye tracking in the dried grasses for dinner. Happy New Year.

Nice one. Like how the bird is looking down. The light looks pretty nice as well.

A super way to end the year Bill, like the image very much, very pleasnat colours. Being a bit picky I would lower the luminance on the leg and side of belly.

I like the setting, composition and intense focus of the Harrier on the hunt. Happy New Year to you and your family Bill!

Thank you all. This Grey Ghost seems to be sticking around, at least for now, so maybe I'll get some closer passes from him.
