Find edges with low opacity and luminosity as blending mode. Gradient for BG, masking bird and add Radial Light in Mystical Lighting.

Radial light in Mystical lighting? Wha??? Please do share!

I can't stop going back and forth between the bird and the BG, the bird and the BG. They are beautiful together. I'm not sure what that little doo dad is right above the bird's beak - maybe a water drop on the original coming from the fish? It's the only little thing I can find that I don't just LOVE about this image.

    Beautiful work as always, Fabs.

Jules, download a trial of Mystical Lighting, FX Software makes it, they also have a cool foggy effect and rainbows!
    Thanks!

I really like the bg on this one Fabs and the tonal range on the egret is super.

The fish needs a bit of contouring shadow IMO....looks somewhat flat.
    Just a thought

Jules those programs are addictive Have to warn you :) btw the doo dad is part of the antenna !!

Feel to the max !!! There is the start of a sunburst effect radiating behind the bird ... wonder if it could be enhanced !!!

This is superb Fabs. These and other techniques open up so many creative possibilities! No one has mentioned it so it could be just me but I'm seeing some jaggies on some of the contours. How are these caused?

I like this very much, too, Fabs. Playing with effects is so much fun, isn't it!? I have alot of freebies that I like; I also have Mystical Lighting & have to confess I've not learned to use it, for the most part....)-:
