    Here is another tight portrait, this time a Wood Stork image captured at Lake Morton in Lakeland, Florida. Why do birds look like they do? Why do the feathers of the juvenile Wood Stork fade away to the scraggly skull of the adult? I do not know, but something to ponder... Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

    Nikon D500
    Nikon 80-400mm F/4.5-5.6 VRII AF-S ED image captured at 400mm
    1/1000 F/8 Matrix Metering EV 0 ISO 640 Auto 1 WB, camera supported by a monopod
    Post processed in Lightroom Classic CC, Photoshop CC 2019 and Neat Image for noise reduction, opened a shadow where the neck meets the body

    That is just about spot on! Looks great, being super picky the ear hole looks pretty much featureless but that is a minor issue - great shot.

    This is great Joe. Super interesting bird to have a tight head portrait of. Fantastic composition in my opinion. You have been stepping it up lately.
