    Default Great Horned Owl

If you know me at all, you know I love owls. Working full time on school breaks means I'm limited to shooting at night. But I'll take it. If you remember my Great Horned Owl on saguaro with moon shot (http://www.birdphotographers.net/for...Owl?highlight=), that bird has probably now matured into an adult, and there's a good chance that the following shot is the same individual.

    Nikon D750
Nikon 600mm f4 (old version, no VR)
    tripod mounted
    Nikon SB-910 +1 EV
    SS 1/60
    ISO 800
    f8

This shot is insane Walker. Perch has such character, the owl is looking at our souls! Perfect background. As discussed I would add a bit more blacks and depth to the shot as it looks a touch thin because of the flash. It is easy to find a roosting owl during the day and get a picture. It is an entirely different thing to get a shot like this at night. Anyone who has ever tried knows how difficult this is to pull off. Awesome job man.

Very nice, it really pops against that dark BG.

This might be my favorite of your night owl images. The perch looks like a sculpture.

Love the pose on the owl and those eyes. Nice perch and background.

Very nice shot indeed Walker, I am very impressed from tail to neck. Moving upwards, I like the mid tones and highlights in the head but most of the black feathers look jet black especially in the "ears" - I know a little picky but otherwise brilliant.

Excellent image Walker! Great IQ, eye contact, BG and perch. A wall hanger for sure!

This is my favorite of your owls' Walker.
Love, love the perch (i might be tempted to clone out the tiny bit of whitewash on the perch to make it perfect!)
I would add a point of blacks ,excluding the ears as the tip is black already and is almost lost against the BG.
