    I love birds in the snow.
    I would crop this a bit tighter and feel the image needs some CW rotation.
    The snowflakes look nice against the bird but they get lost against that grey water. I would play with levels and /or contrast or curves (on the BG )only to see if you could bring out the snowflakes.
    Too bad you were not a bit lower to get the distant shoreline which might have added some color to the image and allowed for snowflakes to show up more.
    I like the fact that you captured the exact moment he took off and that little splash by the feet,

    John, this shot works for me. I agree with comment re snow on the BG. You did well here, this is a striking image.
