I have chased this species many times and have yet to come home with a proper image of one. Details look good and I like the inquisitive head turn. But the rest of the image does not work for me. The dark branches in the background, the large tree stump, the going in and out of focus perch are distracting. I know how difficult these late season flycatchers are.

Nice pose on the bird in some nice light. I don't mind the background. Nice and sharp.

Sharp and gorgeous bird but that perch is brutal, especially above the bird.
