Nice view of this woodpecker. Love that eye. The vertical composition works very well. Excellent background.

I second all that John has said.
is that a peanut tucked in the perch above the bird? If yes, then i would remove it.
Light was a bit bright but not a deal breaker. I like the iridescence in the blacks. Blacks look a bit chocked near the tail.
Any chance of getting some more detail out of that area?

Hi Gail, it’s an acorn they had them stuffed everywhere, as far as the blacks I didn’t try, thanks for the suggestion.

Nice image of this beautiful bird! Lovely background, vertical crop and headangle. The fact that it is a acorn tucked away is for me a bonus as it shows the birds behaviour.
If there is any more room the the left I would suggest adding more space there, and on top, so that the part of the branch with the acorn doesn't get cut precisely at the tip. I would also try to tone down the sunlit, bright part of the trunk to the left of the bird.

Sharpness, EXP, and acorn all superb. In a perfect world, it would have been nice to get him right on the edge of the tree.

Very Nice Image. Vertical Composition works.

I would have opened the blacks a little more in the Tail part.
