I like the open mouth Joe and the BG is wonderful. The sharpness fall off the bird from face to mid neck... Maybe another go at sharpening? Is it a dof due to the curve of the neck and the length of the beak?

Love the pose and that great background. The vertical composition works very well.

I wouldn't mind a bit more room top and right, but I love the pose and background.

Nice pose which demonstrates the attitude of these birds! The green/brown background is really nice, good exposure and IQ too. I like the tight crop but maybe it highlights the tiny issue with the sharpness mentioned by Ann.

Hi Ann, thank you for viewing and commenting. I think the difference in sharpening is the texture of the feathers. Coarse feathers with hard edges sharpen more than soft feathers. In the areas that are soft I think the feathers are softer in texture. The depth-of-field was about three inches. I've noticed it before that some feathers on the same bird don't sharpen as much as others. Thanks again, Ann.

The face is super-sharp and that is all the I care about :) Love the light and the BKGR along with the image design. You should patent these.
