Default Screaming Incoming Grey Heron ( Juvie )

Believe it or not, this is a Juvie Grey Heron getting excited on returning to his nest. The parents are out of shot, and they always make a fuss with a lot of noise when returning to their nests. This was captured at the same location as my previous post of a Grey Heron. Taken early morning.

Wow. This is a great one. Aside from the sharpness with a lead-grey sky BKGR the screaming post and perfectly lit underwings are fantastic. Not to mention that the head is perfectly positioned against the far wing. I am gonna do a repost with a slight twist to see if you like it.

I do see a bit of posterization that I think I could have avoided ...

Hi Artie, thanks for the kind words. I feel I have to disagree with the OOF foliage. The only reason being as I know the original foliage was there to be seen, it feels strange to see it otherwise. Now if this was posted as your post, before seeing my OP, it would work.

Screaming top notch Stu, really like the drama here and the full wing span. Well done, Yes I like Artie's post as well but that's not what you "saw!"

This looks great Stu. Beautiful spread wings and love the screaming pose. Excellent details as always. Knowing that it is returning to a nest I prefer the original but both work fine.

Hey Artie, notice the blacks on this Grey Heron and how they compare to the shot posted by Ivan. This is what I and others were referring to.

Great incoming flight pose. Love the IQ and how sharp it is!
You have a big dust spot to the left of the upper foliage that needs to be evicted.
I love the fanned tail and the elevated alulae feathers.
perfect light angle. No nits from me,
    Gail

This is fantastic. Great wing position and details. I don't mind the foliage knowing that it's a nest. TFS

Looking good well more like great. Love the screaming pose and the fully open wings. I prefer the one with the more in focus vegetation.
