Image taken from my garden hide, this is Pyrrhula pileata, note the paler almost salmon pink breast, whereas the Northern European race Pyrrhula pyrrhula is a deeper red colour, the latter is also slightly larger.

All comments welcome. (The faint grey line at the nape of the neck is not due to any manipulation or monkeying around, it is most likely an OOF feather).

Hi Jon, I really like the colours on this bird, and you have managed a slight head turn to make the pose work. The finer plumage detail on the wing and upper body shows up well enough, and sharp where it counts. I also like the thin perch meandering across the frame with the lichen attached in places.

PMP = pretty much perfect. Beautiful bird, great look-back HA, and a sweet perch and BKGR.

Sweet perch and bird. Excellent background. Details look great. Is this full frame or cropped?

Thanks very much everyone, I am pleased you liked it.
Ann yes I would trade a couple of cranes (in flight) if that's ok?
    John the image is cropped.
Steve glad you're ok with the colours/contrast.

    Beautifully composed image Jonathon.
Paticularly impressed with 3D effect when viewing the Bullfinch.
