Default Pine Grosbeak Surrounded by Orange.

Among the ornamental crabapple trees in this park are a couple of beautiful orange-fruiting ones, including a nice and low one. Low-and-behold on one of the mornings I photographed the Pine Grosbeaks this was their tree of choice to feed off. When this female ventured to the edge, I lined up with the other orange tree to get some similar colours in the BG as well.

Bird and perch very well done as usual. The BG is very attractive on its own, but does overwhelm the subject a bit.

Might just be better than the first one of the female ... I am trying to decide if I like the partially raised wing or not. What do others think?

This is just about perfect Daniel. Congrats man. Colors and pose and that background are to die for. I would prefer if the wing was not raised.

Love the colors here. This is better than the first one in my opinion. Like how the wing is tucked back.

Orange colors work really well for me. So much detail with very interesting crabapple berries. Fantastic framing and detail in a grosbeak. Beautifully done.

Hi Dan, lovely colours throughout the image, and I like the semi raised wing.

You have got a very beautiful series of these Grosbeaks Daniel, congrats! The background is wonderful in the way it matches the bird. I especially like the it is layerd by the in-focus berries on the branch, the slightly OOF berries to the left and the very OOF berries on the right and middle. I'm a fan of the raised wing, or it doesn't bother me anyway. Great exposure and eye contact.

Another beauty! Colors are excellent in perch, bird and BG. Not sure about the raised wing, but not an issue for me.

classic holiday post card image Daniel. love the perch and the colors, I also would pick the one with the wing retracted if you have one but this is nice too
