Photographed this Dunlin in Staten Island in mid October of this year. It was full overcast and very soft late evening light.

Beautiful shot Isaac, the setting, detail, and ripple are all great. I love the bit of color on the shoulder. I love these overcast days for shorebirds. No nits from me. TFS

Killer, killer bird and image; everything is perfect. Ditto all other positive comments here. Can you age it?

Looks like a hatch year bird molting into its first winter plumage based on the extent of rufous edgings to the wing coverts, scaps and tertials. Honestly I have very little experience with juvenile Dunlins.

Hi Isaac, I like your low perspective here, and you have nailed a great angled pose too. Nice soft light, overall, well exposed, and nice and sharp too. Just enough space below for the virtual legs/feet. Well captured.

    Really nice Isaac.
Love the pop of color on the coverts- it makes the image for me.
Great low POV and nice and sharp.
    No nits from me,

Looking perfect as always. Love the pose and the composition. Bird really stands out against that bright background.

Hey Artie. I shot this off of one of those skimmer pod/ground pod things. Using the mongoose 3.6 head (bought through your link by the way ). If the terrain allows I use that ground pod for shorebirds as it lets me get as low as possible. It is lower than the legs fully splayed on the tripod.
