Loons make for tough portrait subjects since they don't often crane their elegant necks up. Luckily this guy bucked that trend.

This was from the kayak. He/She was just going over the crest of a wave. That created the foreground blur. Another distant wave on the other side
of the shallow trough gave me the background blur.
