    Default Ash-throated Flycatcher

    Captured this medium rare visitor at a local park in NJ a few days ago. They are primarily found in the western parts of the US. C&C welcome.

    D500, Nikon 500mm f4/G + 1.4 TC, 1/2500s, f 6.3, ISO 1250, Gitzo, Wimberley Gimball head.

    Good colours and an interesting BG. Not sure how much of a crop this is already, but I would have preferred the comp with some taken off the bottom and at right. A better light angle would have prevented such a shaded area of the perch. It is a nice record image of something relatively rare for you.

    Great lookin bird Geoffrey and i would only ask for a tighter crop if it wouldn't reduce IQ. Colors are beautiful and the BG is sweet as well. Not many flies around, "head West bird!" Well done.

    I agree with a tighter crop if the IQ can handle it.

    Good find for the East Coast! November is generally when these wander that direction, so you're not too far off the usual window.
    Shot is well lit and very sharp. I'd second a slightly tighter crop as you appear to have the resolution.
