    Crop to 70% FF.
LR CC and Photoshop CC. Ran noise reduction at 10 on BG then did a gaussian blur at 1.5 pixels to see if I could get rid of mild pixellation. Some day, someone will figure out how to get rid of this pixellation on JPEG. TIFF looks good.

The goose stands out very well against that background. Nice pose and the grasses along the bottom give a nice anchor.

Looks like it was a great trip. I like the pose, setting, and trailing feet. The bit of grasses add a lot too. TFS

Hi Gail, beautiful Snow Goose. I like everything in the image bird, perfect down wing position, background, very nice. The leading edge of the near wing is not clipped but bright white (248), maybe there is more detail hiding there if the white and highlights are lowered a tad. Thank you for sharing.

Really pretty shot. Nice wing position and a perfect background. Bosque really seems to provide some amazing backgrounds. Maybe next year I join you guys out there now that gear is all sorted out. My first thought when viewing the image was that the hind neck and leading edge of the wings looked a bit over exposed and could have some more details in there to eke out. I played around a bit in PS and did the following

Ran Arties 25/25 formula on the bird only
    highlight/shadow adjustment on bird only
NR on background with Neat Image cleaned up any issues you had re background
Minor NR on bird cause it got a touch noisy and Smart sharpened bird only at 60 and .3

As always, messing with whites on a downsized image is not good but if you go back to the TIFF I am confident you could eke out a bit more detail in the hindneck and wings. This is just as an example and differences are subtle but I think make a difference.

Great wing position, and good BG with hint of grasses. Isaac's repost does pull a bit more detail out of a few spots. Another great Bosque image.

Well done Gail, glad you spotted this guy on his way to the dentist... I really like the BG/habitat and the down wings. I especially like the detail in the secondaries after Isaac reposted/reprocessed... Neat Image is the way to go!

What a classic Bosque frame Gail. Nice pose and an even nicer BG to boot. Even though I like white whites, the OP was just a hare bright. You must not have gotten Neat image yet?. Nothing better for BGs. Look forward to more. See ya soon

Let's remember that WHITEs in soft light will never show lots of FFD. Yes to Isaac's repost showing a bit more detail in spots at the cost of graying out some of the WHITEs. Yes to a classic Bosque downstroke image. I am puzzled that none of the greats who commented above mentioned hat the sharpest focus seems to be on the near primaries rather than the head ...

Hi Gail, great flight pose showing the full downstroke of the wings. Overall well exposed on the whites, sharp, and this location seems to be prime for killer BG's. Well captured.
