Default For Krishna -- Bosque with birds. Part I of many ...

From years ago when Phil Norton was managing the place for birds, for the visitors, and for photographers as well. And birds there were, by the tens of thousands. Compare that with today ...

This at what was the North Railroad Pond (named by me) that was eventually closed by the refuge management :) With a 70-200 and some Canon digital body. Hand held at about 1/13 sec.

ps: scenes like this used to be pretty much a daily occurrence (although not always with such dramatic sky colors ...)

Oh wow. Such a pretty scene shame that it is no longer accessible.

    Thanks for sharing Artie

Krishna, Thanks. If they put water into that pond it would attract some of the birds that I understand are often landing in the two crane pools the last few years ...

    with love, artie

It simply is now what it used to be because of uncaring, unimaginative, uninspired management.

Very pretty shot Artie. I love shots like this. They show the bird and the surroundings they are in. Nothing wrong with a nice, tight portrait but nice to have shots like this as well. I really like the way the birds just softly fade into the horizon.

Intense and peaceful at the same time. It must have been fun to start off a day like that.

    Very pretty Artie.
    Love the colors.
I was just at Bosque and there were lots of geese there but never against a pretty sky like this,
