These guys provided excellent opportunities for a couple of weeks recently, peaking with about 30 individuals before things slacked off. The trick was to wait until some made their way lower and to the outer edges of the ornamental crabapple trees. This obliged nicely.

Though the males rock and the male that you posted was outstanding this one is beyond the beyond amazing. Too bad that ISO 1600 and the 7D Mark II suck. Not in your hands!

Perfect natural shot Dan. Love the color palette of the shot, details and the perch. A shot like this would have been worth every second of the drive for me.

Very nice. Low the colors in this image so soft. The background is excellent. The image tells a story.

Excellent image Daniel! I like the stuffed beak, berries, composition and sweet BG color.

Great image Daniel. I love the overall color palette of the pastel oranges between the bird, berries and background. Berry/bird interaction brings up the interest of the photo compared to just a perch shot.
