Same scenario as my previous Red Grouse image. I couldn't believe my luck, when, this time a Grouse chose this perch. (It is very rarely I get a shot showing their legs). After a quick look around, he jumped back into the undergrowth.

Best one to date for me Will, as you mention its great to get them out with their feet showing, and the environment, details on the bird, light and head angle are all perfect to me eyes

This is just super Will. Details, pose, colors, the habitat are all top notch. Only thing I would do is increase the exposure on the bird a little bit.

You kill it with these grouse. The details are great. Excellent background. Love the colors in the image. This would make a nice vertical.

I like this one way better. Love the feet and the moss. Opening up the darks and reducing the contrast a tad might make it even better.

Couldn't resist taking a crack at this one. BKGR clean-up and smooth. NIK 30-30 and pulled the curve up on the dark tones of the grouse.

One of your best IMO. Love the pose and the mossy perch. The BG is great too. Arties RP is excellent. There is a small blown highlight on the leg that draws my eye that could be fixed or cloned out. TFS

You do so well with these, but this is special. To see the legs is great, and I like the three sector background.
