This stag was giving a little defiance to a rival after tearing up some turf. For some reason most battles were avoided or minimised this year, I saw very little genuine rivalry.

    Hello Jon,

Beautiful stag and the pose allows us to observe the size of its neck in comparison with the body. I like the rich colours in this frame. BG is quite charming, lovely 3D feel, nice techs and well exposed. Sharpness is there in good measure, good detail. Would like a tad more at the bottom, if you have it

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Thats the way she goes. The pose on the stag is great. The grass in the antlers is a nice touch. Nice one.

Hi Jonathan -- Loved the pose and details in the coat. I also find the colours very pleasing and the bkg makes the subject standout. Nice techs as well . I too would like some more space at the bottom of the frame.

Very nicely done, a fine image .

Thanks everyone, glad you liked it. I agree a little more space at the base would have been better. I chose the focal point that gave me the most but obviously not quite enough, I suppose I was being greedy trying to get a full frame image, a small zoom out would perhaps have given that little extra space.

Nice one Jon. Love the exposure under what seems to be sun high in the sky. Good details, color contrast and smooth BG. I infact like the how the shadow falls on the back.
