This image was created on the morning of September 27, 2018 on the Fort DeSoto Fall IPT. I used the Induro GIT 304L/Mongoose M3.6-mounted Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 600mm f/4G ED VR AF lens and my souped up Nikon D850. ISO 400. Matrix metering at about +1/3 stop: 1/2500 sec. at f/8 in Manual Mode. NATURAL AUTO WB at 8:19am on a dead-clear morning. One down and one to the right of center/Group (grp)/Shutter Button/Continuous (AI Servo with Canon) AF as framed was active at the moment of exposure. The array was centered on the bottom of the base of the bird’s neck. Nikon Focus Peaking fine-tune was a significant +5. See the Nikon AF Fine-tune e-Guide here.

As for the image, do not be shy. All comments and suggestions are appreciated.

Love it, the colors are wonderful. I read you blog regarding the spoonbills at Ft. Desoto. I can't see anything to improve. Thank you for sharing, Artie.

Sweet image Artie. So many images of this species out there so it is refreshing seeing them feeding like this but still have a perfect look at that eye. Shooting angle was spot on. If I ever make it down to Florida again they will be high on my list of birds to shoot.

Looking good. Nice behavior frame. Low angle and exposure are very nice.
