    Even if you are "only" photographing a sup duck light angle matters. Here the poor light angle pretty much wrecked the image before you pushed the shutter button ...

    Yeah, the light is tough here. Had you gone for a more dramatic underexposure or some sort of artistic rim lit shot, the shot might have stood up a bit better.

    Fully agree with what Artie and Dorian said here. Nice pose but the light is a deal breaker. In addition your colors are off. The bird has a strong blue cast and the eye is not tack sharp.
