A tip led us on an early morning outing to a creek in Pennsylvania in search of Wood Ducks, several years ago. The sun had not yet risen above the surrounding hills, but was lighting some fall foliage in the distance, creating colorful reflections in the water. I picked out a patch of nicely lit water and waited what seemed forever for this guy to drift into the right spot. Note to self: go a week earlier next time to get the foliage at its peak.
I planned on getting Wood Ducks with beautiful fall color water this year but never got around to it. Love the color palette here. Not a fan of the bird looking away. In addition you have a strong magenta cast that needs reduction. Bird and water look like a little too much NR was applied to me.
Great catch, Bill. You sure did take advantage of the exposed river/stream bottom to get this neat low pov. You managed to get him in a good foliage reflection also.
Hi Bill, colors in BG are peachy keen and i like your POV. I think there is loss of detail throughout the duck and noise that is problematic. Happy Thanksgiving Bill, TFS
Nice colors. The HA looks fine to me. The feathers of the face look totally over-smoothed and detail-less.
with love, artie
