    More of an experiment of 'a short in the dark' than anything else. Shot only with the help of a handheld flashlight mounted on our safari vehicle.

    D600 + Nikkor 70-200 VR @ 170mm
    f/5.6 | 1/60s | 6400 ISO | Handheld

    Looks like the experiment worked. Like the spotlight on the owl. Could use some noise reduction.

    Nice to see the bird in habitat but the whole thing is too dark for me. The bird facing away does not help engage the viewer either. I think you needed to be closer and have a better light with you on this one.

    I Agree with the above points.

    You can try cropping in tight to see if it helps.

    Thanks so much for commenting Krishna! Cropping in tight will worsen the noise issue.

    I like the spotlit look and the subject! You can pretty easily make the pupils black instead of red. LMK if you need help with that.
