Lovely colors John and in the snow adds a wonderful layer of interest. A few suggestions: open up the eye area so it doesn't seem "unnoticed". Also, your set up branch although lovely with lichen, is too big, not scaled to "songbirds"... I think the branch itself could reduce exposure so more color "pops". Also, not a fan of the large snow "blobs", I'd consider removing them. Also, maybe add some warmth to this image. It is a lovely image and well worth tweaking if you are so inclined. TFS

    John,

Nice image of a common species. I think with Ann's recommendations this image would excel.

I like this very much. Beautiful scene, perch has some character and you have a good head angle. I agree that I wish the eye stood out a bit more. Perch could be a bit smaller but this seems within range to me. Overall very nice John.

nice frame John, I like the BG and the snow, it's tough to show the eye w/o a catch light, but you did well here

I love the detail & implied story behind this John! A pity the eye came out a bit shady but under the circumstances there's not much you could have done about it.

Nice bird and nice soft light. You might want to open up the whole face a bit. I would lose some of the larger o-o-f flakes.
