A Golden-headed Cisticola posing for me. Would have liked a less cluttered background and a better perch but that's life. Taken at Minnippi Parklands, Brisbane.

Sharp and a good job on a very tough EXP. Good self-critique on the cluttered setting but the filtered light is the image killer for me ...

Landbird photography is super challenging. You are not dealing with the ultra fast action stuff like for flight photography but it presents a whole different set of problems. The birds are small and super fast and the last thing that they want to do is pose out in the open for you on a nice perch. I have literally spent all day waiting on certain birds to give me opportunities. I also agree with the cluttered background and perch not being ideal. Does this guy ever come into the open? Or come to a water source? Maybe there you can get a more pleasing composition. Most land birds take a considerable amount of work and planning to get right.

Artie. Thank you for the feedback. Always learning. Just watched "The big year" movie for the first time the other day...inspired me even more!
Isaac. You're not wrong...I've also spent ages waiting for the right moment. Yes, they do come out in the open...more so than an open water source...but mainly on top of high grass, and they don't stay there for long! Cheers.
