Spent this past week bird-guiding at the Rio Grande Valley Birding Festival in South Texas. Not much time to shoot between
field trips and rain, but I did sneak out for an afternoon on South Padre. This was the result......

That is really nice. Color is pretty, and the water ripples as you go through the region in focus gives a really nice effect.

I was pretty sure that I was gonna like this one when I saw the thumbnail. But I was wrong. I absolutely love it -- this one is a real wow! and put a big smile on my face, The super low angle and the raised foot put it over the top. The only thing that bugs me just a bit is the fog bank (???) on the right.

    with love, artie

This one was well worth going into the drink. I like the light gradient as well (from left to right). TFS

That is a pretty much perfect silhouette image. Big wow from me. The raised foot and water surface texture are superb.

Wonderful work Dorian, I also like how the foot is raised and sharp at the water line. Colors are great!

Perfect in every way Dorian. The color gradient, the color palette, the pose. All top notch. As is the processing.

I have never been a big fan of silhouettes but this is something special. Love the colours , the position of the bird, the low POV and the raised foot. Very dramatic

Thanks you all for the kind words! This shot salvaged what was otherwise a very frustrating shoot. I just couldn't get things to line up nicely given the
light angle and backgrounds. I eventually folded those efforts, turned around, and shot into the sun instead. Stoked I did......

And Artie, water was about 6-8 inches deep. Lens hood was touching it for this shot.

One of the best silhouettes I have seen! Nice colour and sharpness... Loved the perfect leg position.. Curious to know what post-processing was done...

This is absolutely phenomenal. I have nothing to add except "amazingly well done". Colour palette is exquisite and the raised foot with all four toes visible makes it even better. Bravo!
